I had planned on doing Chalean Extreme Burn 2 tonight, but instead, I was playing landlord, running around checking on a furnace and a dog on the loose. The craziest thing happened at one of our rental properties tonight. The dog broke the window and was looking out of it! Keep in mind it is 20 degrees here today, so the furnace was frantically running. It is a little nerve-wracking when the police officer calls you and says she is sitting outside of a house you own with a rottweiler hanging out the window!
We called the tenants dad to come down and cover up the window, so the way I figure it, we get to keep the security deposit and replace the window with it, so not really a big deal, just kind of crazy….
I can go for months without hearing from anyone, and today a furnace went on the whack at another property! So my plan for the evening was completely scrapped and I dealt with that stuff, then settled in to watch the weigh-in on the new Biggest Loser!
So, no exercise today, but that is ok, because I had the killer power class last night and have YogaSculpt tomorrow night which is a great workout, so this will be considered my day off for this week.
Eating went ok, so here it is:
(b) protein shake (s) banana and walnuts (L) fried rice, chicken, egg roll and crab rangoon(had a meeting at work)
(d) Salad with chicken sausage, tomatoes, feta cheese and 1/2 avacado. (s) yogurt with pineapple
So we will see what the scale holds tomorrow morning! Nope, I am not going to tell you how much I weigh! You need to visit http://www.milliondollarbody.com/yogajen to find that out…

Tenants pets can do weird things sometimes. We had a tenant leave on vacation and left her dogs unattended for days. We had to remove the dogs after the neighbor reported one of them had a glass jar stuck on its head. Another time the tenant moved out and abandoned a puppy in the apartment. What a mess!

So you have rental properties too! I am thinking about selling one, as it is kind of driving me crazy! Plus we are planning an extended vacation for next summer, and it would be one less thing to worry about!

I guess you could call us professional landlords. We currently have over 70 apartments we own and manage and maintain ourselves. We are also going on an extended vacation in March for 6 weeks (our first family vacation together in 4 long years). We hire a real estate management company to temporarily help while we are gone. They charge a flat fee. If you don’t need the extra income and it is turning into a burden, I would consider selling. We just sold a pair of 4 plexes for less than assessed value for these reasons.

I have no idea how you keep up with that! We own 3 that we rent out. One of them, the people intend to buy, so we are doing a rent to own, and they do all the upkeep. The other two we take care of. One, I bought with a partner, who promptly disappeared, leaving me with all the work!! The other is the one where the dog was hanging out the window….
I work full-time and own a yoga studio, so it is just getting to be a bit overwhelming. We are going to stick it on the market and see what happens….
